What I wore today

  • Hat: Dotti, $9.95
  • Marble dyed top: Op Shop $2
  • Skirt with attached belt waist band: Footscray Savers $3?
  • Leggings: Kingi, Harajuku Tokyo $6
  • Winklepickers: Aboh shoes Brunswick Street, $65
  • Necklace: Kinki Gerlinki $28
I was out shooting some Melbourne Street Fashion (the site will be updated tomorrow night) and I got recognised twice!!! So crazy, and the other day someone saw me at Dotti. I'm a minor celebrity, very minor, like a z grade celebrity, yay! Thanks for reading my blog and not being shy to say hi, it was so nice. I'm sorry if I came across rude, I just was surprised that's all, but you defiantly made my day. Yay yay!

Oh and I went to have a look at Petrova Hammond from Project Runway Australia's shop Lady in Flinders Lane (next door to where Bobby's Cuts used to be) but it was "Shut early due to filming for project runway" so that's a good sign, she must not get voted out in the next episode which I'm assuming was filmed last week and is already all edited? Hopefully. I really want her to win.

I'm going to Fitzroy tomorrow to shoot some street fashion and to shop. I'm really excited as I haven't been down that way in ages and I really miss living there. Henry and me had the best house on Brunswick Street above the old Bakers Cafe (now its a Vietnamese restaurant) for 3 years until I moved to Japan, and I grew up on Brunswick Street and around Fitzroy (my parents had a restaurant on the street when I was a baby, so I've lived on Brunswick Street twice, and then we lived in North Fitzroy...we moved a lot when I was a kid, at least once a year so I've lived in lots of places all in the inner city) I miss that area so much, the city isn't as friendly and the cafes are better down there. Plus I always bump into friends down there. I don't know why I haven't been that much since I've been back (11 months and counting) I've been maybe 4 times and its only 20 mins away on the tram out the front of my apartment. I've been too lazy. Oh well this is my first time shooting street fashion down there so I hope its going to be worthwhile. Please people be wearing some colour.

  3. I'm going to come and find you tomorrow, I'll be in the area anyhow...about 1 or 2pm. We can take each others picture!
I grew up around that area, it's changed so much. It makes me nostalgic to go back, but it's not the same these days. Still, it's a great Melbourne St and I'd rather live there than St Kilda or the like any day.

  4. The shirt looks soooo good. I wonder how hard it is to marble dye stuff, I have a dress which needs a new lease on life.
