Wet N Wild in NYC with Garbage Dress
I met up with Zana Bayne, aka Garbage Dress, in her hood in Brooklyn. She wanted to show me the real New York, where kids play with open fire hydrants and block parties just happen.
I forget what she wore, but it is all so awesome, the dress has this hint of red through it that is only noticeable in the light. (UPDATE: Zana informed me that her dress is from Surface To Air and the white and black shoes are Rick Owens) Her jewellery was awesome too, I got to try on her Meadowlark collab claw ring, which made me really want one for myself.
Zana gave me a sample of one of her Zana Bayne Leather pieces, the wing boot straps. The only shoes I have with me that work are my sandals, but I'm itching to try them out with some boots back home, it is winter there right now after all. (Taking this photo in a hostel caused a lot of questions, I mean it is strange to take photos of shoes I guess, but to me after 4 years of doing this its second nature) I am so happy to have met one of my blogging idols. Zana is a true gem on the scene, her blog inspires me in so many ways and meeting her just reinforced what a lovely, talented young lass she really is. Thanks so much Zana xxx
She is seriously talented and has a great eye for design. Jealousss. xo

ReplyDeleteZana never ceases to inspire me. I'm with Alicia - jealous!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to wear one of the claw rings on each of my fingers and pretend to be Wolverine.
ReplyDeleteThe color of that dress is fantastic. It's like black and red foil. I've never seen anything quite like it.

ReplyDeleteLove the photos Hayley, it looks like you had an awesome time. That's so cool that you met Ebony from Make Believe. My bf bought me one of her necklaces for my birthday and I love it! Everyone who sees is compliments me on it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up on beacon's closet, that's definitely on my to do list when I eventually make it to NY.
