Floating on a dream
I've never been much of a sunglasses person, sure I like them on other people and I use them in shoots all the time, but on me not so much. Not only can I never find a pair that suits me, trying them on is a blinding experience (literally as I can not see without my prescription specs). Well all that has changed with the release of these Miu Miu Tres Noir sunnies in my colour of choice, the tortoiseshell (the glitter ones are fab too). I freaking love them! They have been released in Australia ahead of the rest of the world by a couple of months for Sunglass Hut's three day floating pop-up store that started today and ends on Sunday. Details about where the store will be berthed over the weekend can be found here. Last night I went to the fun beach themed launch in Sydney harbour.
All the Miu Miu's and my much loved Tres Noir's.
In that front Bvlgari glass case is a pair of sunnies that cost $18,000, a wee bit excessive no? Sure makes the Miu Mius at $495 seem cheap in comparison though.
If you follow me on twitter you would know how seriously evil these cocktails were. Evil but fun.
Stylist James Dykes and The Vine Fashion Editor Alyx Gorman were in attendance.
As were super lovely bloggers Darren Luk of Boy Moments and Jessie Bush of We The People.
The theme for the night was beach side elegance but sadly the weather wasn't very beachy, luckily the event was under cover. I still chose to dress to theme only adding some sneaky leggings under my skirt for warmth.

Sadly due to my drunken shenanigans my necklace died by the end of the night with only 5% of the stone remaining. Hopefully I can find the stone somewhere at home, but more likely it is lost forever.

I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS OUTFIT
ReplyDeleteThose sunglasses, oh how I want them, I just don't think I can justify the price tag. I love the red glitter ones!
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit, i've been considering snapping up that skirt, I love the colour of it. Hope you find the rest of your necklace!
Awesome sunnies. Love the blouse and maxi skirt. Hope you find the stone! Have a fab weekend xx
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, yes! The tortoiseshell glasses are lovely! That necklace is also drool-worthy. thanks for the post! :)
ReplyDeleteI like sunglasses too but find them excessively priced considering that I tend to throw them around, into the bottom of my bag, onto the cars console, hanging off the neck of my shirt and the styles can be so generic
ReplyDeleteOn a different note. THAT dress. Very flattering. Love the back-drop in the photos. But THAT dress. Beautiful.
This looked like so much fun! I am going to go to the one tomorrow at Manly Wharf!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see all the sunnies - so many pairs that I want just by looking at your photos!
Also, yes - the Seventh Wonderland store launch was ridiculously hot! I had to stand outside for a while cos there wasn't any air conditioning in the store! :(
xx

Looove this outfit, especially the skirt. Although I don't wear maxi skirts, I do like them on others and this one is so lovely. My boyfriend also has trouble with finding sunglasses that suit him. The pair you are wearing looks great, too bad I highly doubt I could afford any of them :(
