Best thing about Sydney

Photobucket
Seriously the best thing about Sydney is the monthly Surry Hills market held on the first Saturday of every month in Shannon Reserve on Crown Street. I always manage to find something unique and cheap at this market, I have scored everything from a vintage cane papasan chair for our balcony for $100 to a gold glomesh purse for only $6. Its like a more curated version of Melbourne's Camberwell Market but still with bargains to be found.

$15 racks of vintage, found the perfect floral maxi skirt on that rack.

Cute vintage bags on display.

Perfect sea punk pieces on this rack, all pieces $5.

I wore some new bits and pieces from my recent trip to Savers in Brunswick, Melbourne. Savers is always on my must visit list when I return home, they need to open up in Sydney stat! For those who don't know basically Savers is a big second hand warehouse store with seven locations in Victoria which merchandises their products by style, size and colour, making it easy to find exactly what your looking for.

Outfit Details
Black maxi shirt dress Savers $9.99
Brown belt City Chic $29.99
Basket bag Savers $4.99
Necklace Kinki Gerlinki $12 many years ago
Black floppy hat Gift from my mum
Bangle Elke Kramer gift
Rings MOMA NYC and Corky Saint Clair
Sandals Melissa Aranha flock jelly sandals $65 from Monk House Design
Socks My Italian Closet

The basket bag was the perfect size to carry home my Surry Hills market purchase of a black rose succulent for our ever expanding balcony garden. The plant conveniently matched my outfit too.

Another pair of my new Italian made socks from My Italian Closet, this time in white. I have two other colours to blog this week.

  2. I ache for markets like that! I remember back in the day when the Valley Markets (Brisbane) used to be like that. These days it's mostly cheap imported sunglasses and jewellery. :(

Oh, and that basket bag is simply awesome! Next time I'm in Melbourne I'm definitely checking Savers out.

  4. aah, this post makes me want to venture down to camberwell markets again. I have not been there for SO long. Ugh, so damn early though. I freaking love your socks and ha, one of my friends was wearing those shoes today xD My pink creepers were a 21st gift from my boyfriend btw. I think he got them from solestruck. Oh yeah, that 'sea punk' rack looks amazing btw. I'd love to have that light blue sequined singlet top.

  5. Hey Hayley, I just saw all your other comments on my blog haaha. Firstly, thank you... they were very nice and I am quite honoured, plus slightly star struck. This is kind of random, but I once saw you at the Footscray Savers, and I wanted to be like "I LOVE YOUR BLOG" but I thought you'd look at me like a freak...

Aaanyway. The backpack I always wear is yes, amazing and man, am I lucky to have it. I found it at an opshop in Altona (I don't know if you've ever heard of the suburb?) for like TWO DOLLARS! that was incredible, considering I was about to purchase a bag in a similar style, brand new for like 60 at the time.

Also, yeah, that checkered dress from Asos is cool, I like a lot of the dresses on asos but damn it, I'm only like 5'0 - 5'1 so I have to get a lot of the dresses altered because they look too long and big on me. unfortunately, that checkered dress became a little too short and now it's basically the length of a long top -__- hahaha. I CAN NOT wear it without shorts.

Once again, thanks for all the comments!
