MSFW RMIT Student Runway

The RMIT grad show is always my most anticipated show of the season. RMIT students are known for their creativity and great technical skill, all of which was evident in last nights show. From futuristic sea creatures to minimal Melbourne black everything imaginable was on show last night. I must say I was very impressed with the number of menswear collections, it is a rare thing to see innovative and creative menswear and for the students it is a very brave choice to focus their final year collections on something as risky as menswear. Anyway I will let the photos from the runway show speak for themselves.

  11. Amazing creativity! I love the faces of the people in the background of Nixi Killick's collection. Even the audience looks impressed!
And I agree...The menswear is so creative, but honestly being a guy, I am ready for more of a market like this. I love really creative and not so traditional menswear fashion. I really like the shoulders on the black jacket of the guy in the foreground from Emma Boseley's collection.

Were the collections meant to be cohesive at all? Or was it just a lot of the same models with the same hair and forehead makeup(?) (paint?).
    Really inspiring work!

    1. The collections were all separate, the styling is what brought them all together. Some of my friends did find that confusing, as it did make you read some of the softer collections in an edgier way than if they were styled without the harsh hair and face paint. Personally, from a styling perspective, I loved it as it made the show feel cohesive instead of disjointed which can happen in such a long show with so many different designers and styles x
